Running a business is not easy. Running a house is not easy. Raising kids is not easy. Life is not easy. We are constantly bombarded by our thoughts every day. I need to do this. I need to do that. I forgot about this. I want to do that.

My journal is not quite what it was in the 6th grade with I drew hearts all over the page with my latest crush’s name in them. Actually I have three. First is my business journal. I talk about what I did that day in my business, what worked, what didn’t, what I would like to see in my business. Next is my joy journal. This is where I write all the happy things that happened that day. The idea here is to focus on the positive and forget about the negative. The last is my writing prompts journal. Every day I get a new topic. One day I have to describe the best meal I ever ate. The next I have to describe my life 5 years from now. The idea here is that I am exercising my brain muscle a bit.
I was never into meditating. Now I’m addicted to it. I use guided meditations. You can use an app. Find a 30 day meditation challenge. Pick one of the millions of videos on youtube. Just take 10 minutes a day for some quiet thinking.
Every morning, I start my day by reading a new book. I just finished the One Thing. Amazing! Next on my list is She Means Business by Carrie Green. She is such and inspiration and I cannot wait to start this book!
I do yoga
If haven’t tried Yoga with Adrienne, you are missing out on a lot! Including the creaky old floor. Just 30 minutes a day of yoga helps me deal with everything and quiet my mind a bit.
Last year I did a session with Rebecca of Creative Habitat. She helped me discover or rediscover I should say my love of drawing. I used to do it in high school. After college I just kind of stopped. I have no clue why either. I’m not talking Salvatore Dali level here. Mostly it’s sketches of cartoons. But I love taking that little time each week to just be a kid again.
