We focus so much on our opt ins, sometimes we miss the super amazing real estate that is our landing page. The truth of the matter is, if someone has signed up to your opt in, there is a much higher chance they will make a small purchase from you directly afterwards. Why? In short because they are already digging your vibe so to speak. They like what you have to offer. So let’s take a few moments and break this all down for you.
What is a tripwire?
This is the Ryan Deiss term for that small bit sized offer you can give after your lead magnet. The science behind it all is that it is building trust. It is getting customers used to the idea of giving you money for your amazing products. This might be the end of the customer journey for some but for others it can be the start of them joining your bigger programs.
How do I create my tripwire?
The easiest tripwire you can create is an e-book. Think of it as an expanded version of your opt in. Maybe your opt in was chapter 1 of the book and the paid e-book is chapters 2 to 7. It doesn’t have to be 500 pages. It can include some workbook areas. It can also include some fun things like images and graphs. It’s an easy and natural next step for your customers as they continue on their journey to your big giant amazing outcome for them. I recommend using Canva or Pages to create your ebook. Once you have it ready simple convert it to a PDF and you are ready to go.
How do I sell my tripwire?
If you are using WordPress, there is a very easy way to deliver your tripwire. That is with the magic of WooCommerce. In this week’s video, I will show you how to create a digital download product and deliver your amazingness to the world.
