Once upon a time, everyone gave out their skype ID for business meetings. To some degree we still do. But thanks to shaky video quality and dropped calls and tech problems, skype was not the best option for me. Especially once I fell in love with Zoom.
Why I Love Zoom
Zoom lets me hold meetings with multiple clients and share screens and even control another computer! It has completely changed my business and the things I am able to do for my clients.
Want to know the even better part? IT’S FREE! Seriously. It’s free. No cost. They have upgraded plans if you like, but if you are on their free plan you can hold as many video meetings as you like. If there is only 1 other person on the call, there is no time limit. There is a 45-minute time limit if your meeting has more than 2 people, however.
Still, for free that’s pretty amazing. And you can record your meetings! No more who said what on the this or the that. It’s all included. No need to extra plugins or fancy apps. It does all this.
How Has Zoom Changed My Business
Before, when I spoke to a client, they would share their screen and we would have the messy process of me telling them where the button was to click or try something. Not anymore. With Zoom, I can request control and actually solve my client’s problem for them. So even though they are in London and I am in Italy, I can fix their site or work on their computer or fix their email (true story).
This allowed me to offer more options to my clients. I now have tech support sessions for bloggers that I never had before and has changed their lives as well.
One thing I used to do on Skype that I don’t do on Zoom is text. However, I have found WhatsApp to be more reliable for texting with my clients.
